Position Title: International Air Cargo Operations Coordinator

Coordinate or arrange the operations and customer service of international, air freight agents from the corporate HQ support center and across the agent network. Ensure that international air freight shipments are serviced properly and agents and employees are managing international air freight business in accordance with company and US governmental policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Quote carrier’s rates and charges and conditions pertaining to such rates offered by the carrier in the development of the most cost effective and efficient routing.Assist agents in completing the required formalities for the transportation of cargo by airKeep agents and corporate employees abreast of new or changing rules in the international air cargo marketplaceAssist Manager in rate negotiations with air carriers and in concert with the needs of our international air freight agentsExecute the company compliance program with international air freight agents concerning the shipment of hazardous materials; denied parties listing, import and export licensed cargo and moreSupport international correspondents in their efforts to effectively interface with our international air freight agents and corporate departmentsAssist in the training of new international air freight agents concerning Landstar’s international policies, procedures and systemsConsult with domestic agents regarding shipment opportunities including referrals to company qualified international air freight agents if appropriate REQUIRED SKILLSHaving been engaged, post 9/11/2001, in the promotion and sale of international air cargo transportation and in the provision of services related thereto and has been so engaged for a period of at least six consecutive monthsWorking knowledge of U.S. government regulations (e.g. EAR and especially TSA) and other government agency requirementsGood working knowledge of domestic and international geography including countries, major cities and gateway airports.Computer skills including MS Office applicationsStrong verbal and written communications skillsMust be able to multi-task.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or general education degree, required; Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, preferred; minimum six months current international AIR/FF or air carrier operations experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
